Pilates Megamix
Pilates Megamix is a 50–55 minute, full-body Mat Pilates class that blends classical and contemporary Pilates techniques with functional movement, low-impact strength training, and a whole lot of creative prop work. Expect to play with light to medium hand weights, Pilates balls, resistance bands, cork blocks, and unexpected combinations designed to challenge your strength, coordination, stability, and stamina.
Sequencing is organized through the framework and measure of Katonah Yoga theory, creating functional stability and pliancy through joint space as you fit, fold, twist, and bend around your spine. The result is a steady, energizing practice that fires up your core, strengthens major muscle groups from head to toe, and challenges your stability through dynamic, low-impact movement.
Expect roughly 40 minutes of Pilates sculpting and strength work sandwiched between 10–15 minutes of organization, mobility, breathwork, and deep muscular release. You’ll build serious heat, boost mobility, explore dynamic breathing techniques, and leave feeling stronger, longer, and unmistakably fired up from the inside out - with practical tools and techniques you can take off the mat and into everyday life.
Sculpt + Align
Sculpt + Align is a 70-minute, full-body practice that blends Mat Pilates precision, deep tissue release through fascia flossing, vinyasa flow, and the sacred geometry of Katonah Yoga theory. Equal parts strength-building and structural refinement, this class supports longevity, joint health, mobility, and greater movement and breath potential. Expect multidimensional sequencing that creates space through the joints, forges deep stability, and builds heat in all the right places.
While each class follows an overall structure - approximately 35 minutes of vinyasa and Katonah Yoga, 20 minutes of Pilates, and 15 minutes of restorative downshifting - no two practices are quite the same. Sequencing evolves with the seasons, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory, astrology, the weather, and, most importantly, the needs of the room. Expect bolsters, blankets, breathwork to both uplift and soothe, and plenty of space to receive the grace of your efforts.
You’ll improve posture, ignite your powerhouse, expand mobility and flexibility, and finish with luxurious restorative work designed to support nervous system regulation. Sculpt + Align explores the nexus of strength, structure, and stability, balancing effort with ease to leave you grounded, spacious, and recharged from the inside out.
All small group classes are currently available to the public at Terrace Fitness, a cozy, exposed-brick space in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, mere steps from Prospect Park. ♥︎
